The team

The Digital, Data & Technology (DD&T) group is responsible for delivering transformational change and key technology related operational services across ASIC.

The DD&T group includes Information Technology, Cyber Security, Data Analytics and AI, Digital, Portfolio Office, and Registry Connect (modernising ASIC’s Business Registers).

The role             

The AWS Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise cloud-based applications and ensure alignment with business goals and industry best practices.


You will be accountable for

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable AWS infrastructure solutions
  • Develop and implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Puppet
  • Optimise AWS resources and costs through efficient design and usage patterns
  • Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery planning for cloud infrastructure
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, ensuring the availability and performance of applications
  • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate cloud infrastructure with application development processes
  • Implement security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance with relevant regulations
  • Lead projects and provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Stay up to date with the latest AWS features, services, and industry best practices

 

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or equivalent certification
  • Substantial previous experience in designing, implementing, and managing AWS infrastructure
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Puppet
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Octopus, or AWS CodePipeline
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and others
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
