Editor Intern (Identified: Australian First Nations)

Develop new First Nations writing as part of State Library of Queensland’s black&write! team.

This role will develop your writing and editing skills as you contribute to the editorial development of manuscripts received through the black&write! Writing Fellowship.

black&wrie! is a highly regarded national project based at the State Library of Queensland. Over the past 13 years the program has delivered significant benefits to Australian literature through extensive development of new First Nations writers and editors. ⁠

As a member of our black&write! team you will apply your keen editorial skills to participate in editorial development, reporting and training activities, as well as assisting with the administration of the black&write!

A key focus of this role will be contributing to the editorial development of manuscripts received through the black&write! Writing Fellowship competition, under the supervision of the black&write! Senior Editor.

This position is designated as Indigenous Identified. Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
