About the Position

We are looking to welcome an In Home Therapy Assistant to provide direct trauma informed, attachment-based coaching, care, and role-modelling to families and children.

  • Full time permanent position.
  • Level 4 under the SCHCADS Award. Salary range is $85,127 – $91,588 + Super.
  • Willingness to support the flexibility of the program and work occasional hours outside of usual business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support families to develop appropriate routines and boundaries and support emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate to ensure and support is in line with appropriate child development and parental capacity.
  • Deliver practical intervention with the family as guided by the therapy team.
  • Provide intervention in the family home or broader community setting.

About You

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
  • At least two years’ experience working with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma or have experienced abuse and neglect.
  • Understanding of the impacts of trauma on child development and family functioning.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development and assessing functioning and wellbeing of children and young people who have experienced trauma and cumulative harm.

Other Requirements

  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
