Your role

As a Chef in the Air Force, you’ll be responsible for fueling personnel and ensuring they are ready to go. You’ll plan menus and prepare food in well-equipped air base facilities, inflight kitchens, and field kitchens on operations and exercises.

Your duties may include:

  • Developing nutritious daily menus
  • Preparing main meals, salads, sweets, and in-flight rations
  • Procuring of rations and stock management
  • Preparing in-flight catering for aircrew and passengers
  • Supporting VIP events and functions
  • Training and preparation for deployments

Salary

Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $76,700.

Location

Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.
