<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>

<p>As the Governance Officer, you will champion the promotion of strong ethical research and teaching culture at CSU through the provision of authoritative information and support for Ethics and Compliance within the University. You will provide operational advice and support to the compliance committees and the University more generally in the ethics and compliance area. Including but not limited to providing expert advice and education on legislation and policy, preparation of submissions, agendas and minutes, and monitoring and implementation of regulatory/procedural and operational changes. Your role will also consult with senior staff within the Ethics and compliance unit where required and appropriate, particularly for high level and complex issues</p>
<p><strong>To be successful you will have:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A degree in a relevant field, with at least 2 years’ relevant experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and/or experience</li>
<li>Excellent analytical and organisational skills</li>
<li>Ability to work as an effective team member, and to maintain effective professional relationships</li>

<p><strong>The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Development and Industry)</strong> encompasses the Research Office, the Office of Global Engagement and Partnerships, the Office of Indigenous Affairs, the four University Research Centres plus a number of strategic agendas including ethics and compliance, commercialisation of research, the AgriPark and contribution to the University Strategy. The DVC RDI, in collaboration with the Pro Vice-Chancellor Global Engagement (Research and Partnership), stewards the development of collaborative connections between CSU and industry, end-users and stakeholders to strengthen and expand the research agenda. Closer strategic partnerships are sought based on the internationally competitive nature and relevance of CSU research and the opportunity to provide Higher Degree by Research students with a more comprehensive training.</p>
<p><strong>The Research Office</strong> is a key operational unit within the RDI portfolio. The critical role of the Research Office is to provide an integrated suite of high standard research administration and support services. Effective leadership of the Research Office is essential to ensure excellence in research higher degree candidature management, research grants and contracts administration, research finance and commercialisation, research information management and reporting, research compliance and research policy development. These activities are undertaken through active liaison with internal and external stakeholders and a strong communication program.</p>
