<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Rehabilitation and Support Worker position will provide a range of rehabilitation and support specifically to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, tailoring support to meet their individual needs. Neami National’s work with consumers occurs within their own community of friends, family and neighbourhood. You will work closely within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, with clinical case managers and other community partner organisations in order to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to consumers.</p>
<p>In this position, you will:<br />
Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships<br />
Provide direct support and rehabilitation to consumers within their community<br />
Work collaboratively with consumers to identify their needs, set goals and develop a plan to meet those goals<br />
Work with community partners<br />
Assist consumers to participate in recreation activities and the cultural life of the community by supporting the development of interpersonal skills<br />

<li>Refer job seekers to Providers and make arrangements including appointment times, dates and contacts.</li>
<li>Follow up and remind clients and where appropriate attend with client to non-vocational appointments</li>
<li>Provide support and link clients with most appropriate non-vocational services in their local area and provide feedback to employment consultants</li>
<li>Research and network with non-vocational providers in the South East/Inner East of Melbourne to maintain and add to the suite of non-vocational services available to Direct Recruitment&#8217;s Indigenous job seekers</li>
<li>Engage with local Indigenous communities</li>
<li>Attend meetings, steering committees and other functions as required to maintain networks with non-vocational partners</li>
<li>Regular liaison with job seekers&#8217; Employment Consultants on progress in overcoming non-vocational barriers</li>
<li>Arrange, in conjunction with Site Managers, for non-vocational partners to attend site meetings to discuss services directly with employment services employees</li>
<li>Provide information to assist in the process of ESAts (Assessments)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<p>You will have a <strong>Degree or Graduate Diploma in Allied Health Services or Behavioural Sciences, Social Work, Rehabilitation, Counselling or other allied Health qualification</strong> and demonstrated experience in the provision of case work services for disadvantaged job seekers. If your qualification relates to a field that requires professional registration to practice, you must be registered with the appropriate authority. You will have proven ability to engage, build rapport and motivate Indigenous job seekers and an in depth understanding of the local labour market, challenges to employment and underlying issues faced by disadvantaged individuals.</p>
<p>A successful candidate will have:</p>
<ul>
<li>A formal qualification in the Allied Health (e.g. Social Worker) or Community Services (e.g. Youth Worker) sectors</li>
<li>Knowledge of Indigenous organisations</li>
<li>An understanding of employer needs and expectations</li>
<li>Strong verbal, listening, written communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to be proactive, self-motivated and self-directed</li>
<li>Demonstrated problem solving skills with experience in delivery of innovative services that meet specific customer requirements and timelines</li>
<li>Valid full drivers licence and reliable vehicle</li>
<li>Current Working with Children Check &amp; must be able to successfully pass a Police Check</li>
</ul>

<li>Ensure all relevant documents are submitted to AFLVic as per license agreement when due</li>
<li>Communicate with all VFL/AFL clubs in respect to the competition as required</li>
<li>Liaise with other stakeholders and tenants, as well as manage the license agreement with council for Sportshouse</li>

<p><strong>Ad hoc and Additional duties</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide quarterly ground usage schedule to Sports and Recreation (S&amp;R) council reps.</li>
<li>Meet with S&amp;R as needed to discuss ground condition and weekly usage</li>
<li>Ensure all training drills are spread around the ground to limit damage to turf</li>
<li>Ensure scoreboards are turned on and operational as needed</li>
<li>Provide access of ground to all stakeholders and other event opportunities as needed</li>
<li>Ensure facility is opened/locked depending on event/usage by relevant organisations and co-ordinate with relevant Casey Demons staff/organisation staff</li>
<li>Oversee/Manage any repairs/maintenance issues/equipment upgrades or repairs for all of facility and notify council as needed</li>
<li>Coordinate all external contractors performing maintenance/repairs to facility</li>
<li>Manage all aspects of security for the facility, including alarms</li>
</ul>
