– Full-time Continuing Position

– Academic Level D, Salary Range $137,716-$151,475 + 17% Super

The University of Canberra is seeking an experienced Discipline Lead and Associate Professor in Public Health to provide leadership on professional matters, teaching and research within the Discipline. As an experienced academic, your success in the role is underpinned by your passion in promoting student learning in Public Health.

Public Health is a discipline in which the wellbeing of the entire nation can be lifted, and one in which the University of Canberra has an enviable record of achievement in both education and research. University of Canberra students can be engaged in the Master of Ecological Public Health or the Bachelor of Public Health. Our team provides close collaboration with industry and all students can expect industry experience and engagement through their degree. The University’s focus on teaching and learning brings opportunities for innovation in online and flexible spaces for broad student engagement.

A large-scale campus development (approximately $2 billion) is under way, emphasizing university and industry collaboration, with health as one of the major areas of development. The $139 million construction of the University of Canberra Public Hospital is one of the most important projects that the ACT government is undertaking. It will become a teaching hospital and will provide a combination of 140 admitted overnight beds and 75 admitted day service places as well as extensive, purpose built ambulatory areas, outpatient services and a variety of specially designed therapy and support spaces. This is another great example of how the ACT Government’s reforms are enabling the University of Canberra to provide more community orientated services on the campus to attract more new students and brand-new facilities for researchers.
