Facilities Engineering Onslow Production Support – Process Engineer

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Engineering Onslow Production Support – Process Engineer to join the Discipline Engineering team. Reporting to Onslow Senior Process Engineer, this two-year maximum term role will be residential in Onslow.

Key responsibilities:

  • The role will be one of three Onslow based Process Engineers assigned to support Wheatstone Downstream Operations.  Between them they will cover Inlet facilities and condensate stabilisation; liquefaction; storage and loading; utilities
  • Provide process engineering support to production and maintenance on all matters associated with the Downstream aspects of the Wheatstone facilities. Provide and coordinate detailed process technical support to the Onslow asset operations and Facilities Engineering Team Lead
  • Provide process engineering oversight for the assigned Downstream facility (e.g. process modelling, heat and material balances, process design, hazard identification study and hazard and operability review)
  • Perform routine process monitoring and optimisation of plant operation in assigned area and provide troubleshooting support to resolve problems experienced on the Downstream facilities
  • Coordinate and propose process optimisation and debottlenecking projects for the plant, including organising and participating in capacity trials
  • Provide support to other members of the process team to assist in resolving process related issues in all areas of the Wheatstone facilities
  • Perform design optimisation reviews and advise other members of the team of ways to improve the design and operation of the facility
  • Commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices

Key skills and experience required:

  • Preferably minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer working in an LNG operating /design facility and/or chemical plant/refinery
  • Bachelor of engineering in process or chemical engineering
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Strong safety focus
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results
  • Demonstrated commitment to Chevron’s values of integrity, partnership and trust and achieving an incident and injury free environment
